In Louisiana, Carnival season is a big deal. The biggest celebrations usually occur during Shrovetide, traditionally in February or early March (or Pre-Lent). Carnival is often marked by large-scale events that include the public, such as parades, open-air gatherings, and other shows that incorporate elements of the circus. Schools normally let students have a break during this time. Most teenagers and families go to parades, but you must remember to be safe!
