Today's school counselors are vital members of the education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
Arkansas has adopted the National Model of School Counseling. The counselors work under this model to ensure the highest level ethical practices and counselor competencies. Counselors work to answer the question, "How are students different as a result of what school counselors do?"
The counseling programs are data driven to show the effectiveness of the program in measurable terms. School counselors provide services to students, parents, school staff and the community in the following areas:
Direct Student Services
School counseling core curriculum
Individual student planning
Responsive services
Indirect services
