Jessup ISSO defines on-campus employment as work at Jessup that is on the physical campuses. A good way for students to determine if a job is on-campus is to ask the employer if they will be paying from Jessup's payroll.
Students with F-1 visas are eligible to work on campus while they maintain status. A valid I-20 document serves as proof of work eligibility for on-campus employment.
The eligibility ends:
When students graduate.
If the student transfer to another school.
If the student violates their F-1 status and their SEVIS record is terminated.
F-1 students are allowed to work:
Part-time (20 hours per week or less) during their regular full-time semesters.
Full-time (more than 20 hours per week) when school is not in session.
Students can explore on-campus job opportunities through the College Central Network. Additionally, students should check their school emails, as the university sometimes informs them about on-campus job opportunities via email.
NOTE: Students will need a Social Security Number (SSN) to start working on campus. A student can apply for an SSN after receiving an on-campus job offer. For more information, please read International Students and SSN.
