Olmsted teachers will provide students with the opportunity to adjust their behavior by utilizing the techniques listed in the “Olmsted Intervention Menu.”
The aim of Restorative Practices is to develop community and to manage conflict and tensions by repairing harm and restoring relationships. Relationships can only be restored if they are there to begin with; this is why building relationships is the foundational “below the line” work that needs to happen in schools. These relationships are not just student to student, but also student to teacher, teacher to teacher, administrator to teacher, district to staff, and so on.
