School Counseling Services

Monthly Social-Emotional Lessons: All classrooms recieve monthly social-emotional lessons from the counseling team. These lessons are often tied to our CharacterStrong program and involve topics such as respect, kindness, honesty, courage, etc.

Small Group Counseling: Ms. Libby offers small group counseling to each grade level. Each group meets during the school day for 30 mins and last for 5-6 weeks. The group topic is based off a social emotional need seen by the teacher(s). A permission form will be sent home if your student is chosen for a small group.

Individual Counseling: Mr. Guttmann and Ms. Libby meet with students individually. Individual counseling can incorporate a lot of different topics. Parents, staff, and students are able to submit a referral for a student. A permission form will be sent home for your student to receive individual counseling. If you have questions or would like your student to receive counseling at school, please reach out to Ms. Libby or Mr. Guttmann.

Community Based Counseling

If the social emotional concern is not presenting at school, outside therapy might be a better fit. JCPS has partnered with Care Solace to make it easier for parents and guardians to find community based counseling. Please reach out to Mr. Guttmann or Ms. Libby to submit a Care Solace referral.
