Areas of Gifted Identification

Areas of Giftedness Recognized in Kentucky

The state of Kentucky identifies five areas in which students may be recognized as gifted:

1. General Intellectual Ability (GIA)

2. Specific Academic Aptitude (SAA)

3. Creativity

4. Leadership

5. Visual and Performing Arts

To be formally identified in any of these areas, students must demonstrate at least three pieces of evidence showing exceptional ability.
