A note from your teacher:

Welcome to our classroom! I am so excited to have your child in class year! It's going to be a great year of learning and growing! My name is Whitney Wasko. I have my Bachelor's degree from Murray State University in Learning and Behavior Disorders (k-12) and Elementary Education and my Master's degree as a Literacy Specialist from the University of the Cumberlands. I have been at Blue Lick for 5 years, teaching 2nd grade for 3 years before moving to 3rd. I have been in 3rd grade for the past two years and have found it to be my favorite grade! I feel very lucky, as Blue Lick is a fabulous school with great staff and even better students.

Fun Facts about me:

• I have 4 pups at home named Hope, Sophie, Ellie, and Piper. They are pretty cool, but not as cool as me!
• Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday (probably because it's so close to my birthday on Nov. 2nd)
• I'm obsessed with music, coffee, Panera, Target, and soft peppermints!
• My favorite thing about teaching is getting to hang out with cool kids and build relationships with them. They leave just as big of an impact on me as I do on them!

My number one job is to keep my students safe, then ensure they grow and reach their potential. I will push them to be the best that the can be. I know each and every one of them can reach for the stars and make something of themselves. We will work hard this year and it won't always be easy. I know that if we all put the effort in, these kiddos will do amazing things! My hope is that we can work together as a team to support our students, encourage them, grow them, push them, and show them how to be impactful citizens. They are the future, and we need to cultivate their potential.
