A NOTE FROM YOUR TEACHER:

Welcome to our classroom! I am so excited to be teaching at Blue Lick this year! It's going to be a great year of learning, growing, and fun! My name is Megan Smith. I have my Bachelor's degree from University of Louisville in Elementary Education with a concentration in Social Studies, and my Master's degree as a Literacy Specialist from the University of the Cumberlands! This is my first year at Blue Lick and my 4^th year teaching. I taught 1^st and 2^nd grade at Atkinson Academy before moving to Blue Lick. I am excited to be teaching 3^rd grade and have a feeling this will be my best year of teaching! I feel very lucky, as Blue Lick is a fabulous school with great staff and even better students.

Fun Facts about me:

• I have a long haired Chihuahua at home named Layla. She is black and white and very tiny.
• I read a lot in my spare time and love spending time with friends and family.
• I'm obsessed with Disney, Target, and Harry Potter!
• My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students grow throughout the year. I am always so proud of the work they do and how hard they work to achieve their goals!

My number one job is to ensure my students learn and meet their full potential. Sometimes the work we do will be challenging, but my goal is to push my students and create leaders who are resilient! My hope is that we can work as a team and synergize so that each students will feel supported and successful.
