Learn and Earn

There are many ways to enjoy perks in Ms. Elliott’s class. Here are the choices how you can earn some “extras!”

Friday Fun

  1. Each day the class has many opportunities to earn “Friday Fun Minutes.” We add up those minutes and at the end of the day on Friday we enjoy “Friday Fun” time. During this time students may choose what they would like to do as long as it follows school rules. Popular choices in the past have been technology, board games, reading, writing with friends, playing cards and just chatting with friends. Classes in the past who are conscientious about their behavior often have 30 or more minutes a week. In order to participate in Friday Fun, all homework and missing class work must be turned in.

Flexible Seating

  1. We choose seats weekly, on the first day of the week. If a student has everything turned in on time (including math the next day), these "Super Students" choose their seats first. Students who have everything in by Friday choose second. However, if a student has any work or work that hasn't been turned in, they will sit at an assigned seat.

  2. They may stay in their seat for as much of the day as they wish, (except lessons) as long as they are:

    1. working efficiently

    2. not talking, giggling, laughing, or making noise excessively

    3. doing what they're supposed to!!

  3. If a student is having trouble with these actions, I have the responsibility and right to move them to another spot of my choice to encourage their best learning and that of their classmates.

Student Shout-Outs, Classroom Badges and DIVE

These are additional ways students earn positive recognition.
