The counselors

I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth on a basketball scholarship and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then earned my Master’s degree in School Counseling at UMD as well. After making club soccer team trips to Colorado when I was younger, I always dreamed of moving to Colorado for the 300 days of sunshine and warmer weather- the Midwest’s summer humidity and cold winters can be brutal at times. I was fortunate to get a job at Dakota Ridge HS right out of college and I have been here ever since. Of course I didn’t know it at the time, but I met my husband, Brian Plautz (another DRHS Counselor at the time), during my job interview! A few years later, we were married and now have two wonderful children. 

When I am not at DRHS, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two kids. I also enjoy playing basketball, snowboarding and watching sporting events- especially my beloved Green Bay Packers!

 I enjoy working with teenagers and exploring the endless opportunities at their fingertips, helping them to find success and happiness.
