Erika’s Lighthouse offers high school students a structured, skill-building curriculum focused on understanding depression and suicide, identifying symptoms, practicing coping mechanisms, and encouraging help‑seeking. Delivered via flexible, video‑based lessons and supported by resources for teachers, families, and the broader school community—all at no cost to schools. These programs are intended to reduce stigma, build resilience, and foster meaningful conversations about mental health in high school settings.

At JCHS, our counseling team partners with our Health and Personal Fitness course to provide these lessons to students. Before the lessons, Health and Personal Fitness teachers will send communication home so that parents are aware of the timeline for lesson delivery and have the option to opt their student out of the lessons if they so wish.
