Participation in the dress rehearsal is mandatory. The dress rehearsal allows the students to become familiar with the theatre surroundings and feel comfortable with their performance, costume(s), and - of course - being onstage!
Please see the schedule posted below for your dancer's report time and report day for your planning purposes. We know that weekdays can be difficult, but rehearsal at the show location allows for an opportunity to see how long the drive is, the best route to take, how to to do our hair and makeup, as well as giving our dancers the best chance at a successful show weekend by seeing the facility and the stage!
Please arrive at least 15 minutes BEFORE your rehearsal time. We do our best to run on time, but please note that we sometimes run ahead and also sometimes behind schedule. Please be patient with all staff and students participating. We do our very best to run an organized dress rehearsal, and your help with the process will guarantee a professional production.

Drop Off
When dropping of your child, please park in the front of the building. (NO ONE outside of the JCDA staff may use the back entrance for the safety and security of our students.) Please walk your child in through door 19 (The Arts Entrance) and check them in at the "check-in" table in the lobby, in front of the auditorium doors. ALL DANCERS MUST STOP TO CHECK IN AT THIS TABLE. Here you will receive your child's tee-shirt, any dance photo packages, and any updates or reminders about the day. This is also where you will find the final show line-up (available for your convenience). One of our JCDA Staff members would also be happy to show you your dressing room assignment for Saturday's show, if you would like a tour. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask! We want your recital experience to be a great one!
Be sure your child is dressed in their first scheduled dance costume when they arrive including tights, jewelry, hair, make-up and dance shoes that are labeled with their name. (A dressing room will be provided to our dancers during dress rehearsal, however parents should keep costume pieces with them in the auditorium.)
Dancers should sit in the CENTER section with the row assigned for their class, and parents may sit in the side sections of the auditorium. PLEASE, only one parent is permitted inside the auditorium during dress rehearsal.

Competition Team
Our competition team had their stage time during stage rehearsals FEBRUARY 23 &25.
There will be a technique class and performance prep for the team at the studio the week of show,
THURSDAY MAY 28 @ 5pm @ JCDA Studio
This has been reflected on your COMP CALENDAR and uploaded into the DRIVE.
Students should wear leotards and tights, bring water and all shoes, and bring their ballet costume for a run through!

Pick-Up
Before you leave the building, BE SURE YOU HAVE ALL OF YOUR CHILD'S COSTUME AND PERFORMANCE ITEMS! Also, please check with the child's dance instructor for permission to leave rehearsal.
DON'T FORGET TO TAKE YOUR PICTURES & RECITAL TEE-SHIRT HOME WITH YOU!
