Safeguarding your luggage
In addition to your main bag (preferably with wheels!), you will need a daypack of some kind: asmall backpack or shoulder bag.
Be sure to label your bags with your name, inside and out. We suggest you put INSIDE eachpiece of luggage a label or piece of paper giving your name AND your cellphone# and emailaddress. You might also consider buying I-tags (or similar) and inserting them into your bags. Finally, you should take a photo of each bag so that you can provide that picture to the airline, should the bag be missing.
This may seem like overkill, and indeed bags are rarely missing for long, but these steps willgive you peace of mind about tracking any luggage if it goes astray.
On American Airlines, you are allowed ONE carry-on and ONE checked bag (weight limit = 50 lbs.)
