About Language Accessibility
All breakout sessions in the Deaf Leaders Track will be presented in ASL with no voice interpreting.
Breakout workshops in the Interpreters Track will be presented in the language of choice of the presenter -- often their heart language. Electives presented in ASL will not be voice-interpreted. Elective workshops presented in spoken English will be interpreted. Attendees should choose workshops based on their skill and comfort level.
All joint main sessions and Interpreters Track main sessions will be interpreted for equal access for hearing and Deaf attendees. Voicing will typically be provided via a Zoom room/webinar that attendees can join via their personal phone or tablet using their headphones or earbuds. This allows guests to log in and out to access the information as needed without a voice interpreter distracting others in the room who want to enjoy the session in ASL.
Deaf Leaders Track main sessions will be presented in ASL with and will be voice interpreted via the Zoom room/webinar.
There will be tactile and pro-tactile interpreters working throughout the conference and accommodations for low-vision guests will be made with preferential seating and monitors as needed.
ASL and spoken English are the languages of this conference. Other language requests, spoken or signed, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
