THE DEAF MISSIONS CONFERENCE exists to encourage and equip Deaf leaders and interpreters to continue growing both personally and professionally in faith and in excellence.

"To run with endurance the race God has set before us," to "lead a life worthy of your calling," to "not get tired of doing what is good," and "to go and make disciples," remembering that He "who began a good work within you will continue his work until it is finally finished." (NLT Heb 12:1b, Eph 4:1, Gal 6:9, Matt 28:19, Phil 1:6)

Conference Registration

We have reached 950 guests and registration is now closed.

After January 15, 2024, the cost will be $250.

Guests still registering are not guaranteed a seat at the AMC for the Thursday night premiere. You will be added to a waiting list, a "plan B" is being formed for overflow, and all affected will receive details approximately a month before the conference.

CEUs for interpreters can be added on for an additional $100.

A student rate of $180 opens on August 6, 2023,

and a single-day rate is available.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:  If a registrant is unable to attend, a full refund minus 10% can be requested in writing/e-mail up to 21 days prior to April 4, 2024.  Registrations are transferable up to the day of the conference!
In the unlikely event of dire or unforeseen circumstances (such as a natural disaster or national emergency), Deaf Missions reserves the right to cancel the conference.  Deaf Missions will communicate any decision to cancel with those registered and will refund appropriate registration fees.

Request for accommodations:  Request for accommodations for any special needs can be included on your registration (preferred) or by e-mailing the conference manager - info below.  Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with the ADA.

The first public premiere of Jesus, A Deaf Missions Film with an accompanying celebration is included with your conference ticket.  All conference attendees will be able to view the film - some at an overflow location.

Due to limited seating and an incredible response to the conference, tickets will not be open to the public.

We anticipate the film will release in select theaters later in the spring or summer.  Follow the FaceBook (Jesus - a Deaf Missions film) and Instagram (Jesusdeaffilm) pages for more information as it becomes available!

Deaf Missions Conferences began in 2009 for Interpreters and 2010 for Deaf Leaders.  In 2021, they merged together, becoming the Deaf Missions Conference meeting approximately every two years.  Diversity and unity have become trademarks of the conference.  In 2021, there were 34 states and 6 countries represented.  There are pastors, professionals, interpreters, ministry leaders, community leaders, professors, students, volunteers, mentors, people just getting to know Jesus, and lifelong Christians, all from multiple denominations and backgrounds -- a beautiful representation of the New Testament Church.

Airport Shuttle - submit your itineraries here!

Deaf Missions will provide shuttle service from the DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport) to the Loews Arlington Hotel and from the hotel back to DFW.

(There will be NO shuttle options to and from Love Field or to any other hotels.)

Please enter your travel itinerary on this form:  Conference 2024 flight itineraries for shuttle service

The shuttle provided by Deaf Missions, will be operated by Roadrunner and will make a round trip approximately every 45 minutes to an hour.

There will be a Deaf Missions volunteer at the airport baggage claim to help direct you.  Look for someone holding a sign with our conference logo.

OKRID is an approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional and General Studies program is offered for cumulative 2.4 CEUs at the "little to none" to "extensive" content knowledge level.
(CEUs will be awarded to those who have registered for them in increments for workshops actually attended.)

To view a schedule with workshop titles and presenters, click here: Full Schedule and to review workshop descriptions and objectives use this link: Descriptions

Interpreters Track - Target Audience:  This track is suited for any interpreter from beginner to advanced who serves their community or their church through interpreting.  Interpreting students are also welcome.

Deaf Leader Track - Target Audience:  This track is suited for any Deaf Christian (or member of the Deaf Community) who seeks to honor God by leading in their community.  Individuals do not need to be in an official leadership position to influence those around them to live better - to live for God.

All workshops in both tracks are taught from a Biblical worldview to be most appreciated by a Christian audience, but all are welcome.  Deaf Missions will not deny registration to any who choose to pay the fee and attend.

If you need CEU documentation for RID or other purposes - you must register for that option in advance and pay the extra $100 to receive CEUs.  All sessions in the Interpreters Track will qualify for CEUs, and some sessions in the Deaf Leaders Track will qualify.

About Language Accessibility

All breakout sessions in the Deaf Leaders Track will be presented in ASL with no voice interpreting.

Breakout workshops in the Interpreters Track will be presented in the language of choice of the presenter -- often their heart language.  Electives presented in ASL will not be voice-interpreted.  Elective workshops presented in spoken English will be interpreted.  Attendees should choose workshops based on their skill and comfort level.

All joint main sessions and Interpreters Track main sessions will be interpreted for equal access for hearing and Deaf attendees.  Voicing will typically be provided via a Zoom room/webinar that attendees can join via their personal phone or tablet using their headphones or earbuds.  This allows guests to log in and out to access the information as needed without a voice interpreter distracting others in the room who want to enjoy the session in ASL.

Deaf Leaders Track main sessions will be presented in ASL with and will be voice interpreted via the Zoom room/webinar.

There will be tactile and pro-tactile interpreters working throughout the conference and accommodations for low-vision guests will be made with preferential seating and monitors as needed.

ASL and spoken English are the languages of this conference. Other language requests, spoken or signed, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Application to Present

Many presenters are specifically recruited, and some are chosen from applications/proposals submitted.  We still have room for presenters in the Deaf Leaders Track and the Interpreters Track.  This is a volunteer opportunity.  Presenters are honored with reduced or comp registration and are gifted an ad in the event program.   All other expenses are on your own unless specifically requested and negotiated.  Applications will be accepted until the schedule is finalized.

Application to Interpret or serve as SSP

We will need a variety of interpreters: voice, platform, CDIs, copy, Tactile and Pro-tactile, possible spoken Spanish and Spanish Sign Language.  Interpreters must be certified or highly qualified.  SSPs will also be needed - experience is preferred, but not mandatory.   These are volunteer positions, but service is honored with free or reduced registration pending time served.  Applications will be accepted through February 2024 or until all spots are filled.

Application to be a Student Ambassador (Conference Staff)

This is a unique opportunity for college students to come and serve as conference staff - being exposed to behind-the-scenes event management, as well as some of the greatest Christian Deaf Leaders and Interpreters in the nation.  Spaces are limited and the competition is strong.  All expenses are covered except for travel to and from the conference.  The application deadline is November 1 so applicants can have an answer by Christmas.
