Program Director Latin America, Building Markets
Carolina Duran
Carolina Duran is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in the public and private sectors, mainly in the financial industry. She has held prominent positions, including Secretary for Economic Development for Bogota, where she oversaw innovation, investment, science, technology, and entrepreneurship, among other areas. She was the founder of BI, a digital media service providing financial data, analysis, and news to clients globally, and previously worked at Citicorp Information Technologies, Standard Chartered Bank, and Asobancaria. Additionally, she has worked for Colfuturo Emprende, Columbia University’s Global Center, and Standard and Poor’s, where she evaluated infrastructure and oil and gas companies in Latin America and was part of the analytical team for sovereign ratings and public finances. She currently serves as the Program Director for Latin America at Building Marketing, where she supports the growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises across the region.
Chairman, Australian Innovation Management Institute (AIMI)
Kent Matla
With over 25 years in corporate advisory, I am a dedicated Yamatji leader with a wealth of experience spanning multiple industries. Kent's commitment to advising, building, and growing businesses is supported by global credentials in Innovation Management. Having spent over 30 years in Asia, including 21 years residing in China, he possess a nuanced understanding of the region’s commercial and cultural dynamics and am fluent in Mandarin. Currently, Mr. Malta serve as the Chairperson of the Australian Innovation Management Institute (AIMI), a membership-based, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing innovation and innovation management across Australia.

Babatunde Akindele
Tunde is an experienced professional with a background in telecommunications, innovation management, and leadership development. He has worked with Fortune 100 companies to develop strategies and commercialize innovative business concepts while also successfully leading significant business turnaround initiatives in Nigeria. Tunde sits on the Advisory Board of the Global Innovation Management Institute and is the North America Co-Chair of the GSMA 5G IoT for Manufacturing Forum. He is passionate about leadership and is a frequent speaker at innovation management and venture capital events. Tunde also spends his time mentoring startups and small businesses.
Criteria
Distinguished Innovation Credentials: The candidate must have a notable track record of success in developing innovative ideas, products or services, that have made a significant impact in their respective field.
Strong Professional Network: The candidate should possess strong professional connections in the country he/she represent, including industry leaders, decision-makers, and influencers.
GCIO Involvement: The candidate must have actively engaged with the Global Council for Innovative Organizations (GCIO) for a minimum duration of one year, showcasing a commitment to its activities, initiatives, and collaborative endeavors.
Alignment with GCIO's Values: The candidate must strongly align with GCIO's mission and core values, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to promoting the council's our preeminence in the innovation industry.
Willingness to Support GCIO initiatives: The candidate must be willing to support the company's initiatives and goals, particularly in the areas of innovation and growth.
Excellent Communication Skills: The candidate must possess strong oral communication, public speaking, and presenting skills. Ideally, they should have experience as a keynote speaker, moderator, or panelist, demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to a diverse audience.
Pre-Approval Protocol: The candidate must adhere to the pre-approval protocol and notify the GCIO team of any upcoming activities or engagements at least 48 hours in advance.
Regular Reporting: The candidate must keep GCIO informed of their ambassadorial activities on a regular basis. This includes submitting periodic reports outlining their progress, challenges, and successes in promoting the organizations goals and values.

Responsibilities
Represent, Endorse, and Promote GCIO: As an ambassador, you will represent, endorse, and promote GCIO to your networks, including industry leaders, decision-makers, and influencers, highlighting the organization's mission and values.
Attend Meetings and Key Events: You will attend quarterly meetings and key events organized by GCIO, actively participating in discussions, sharing your insights and experiences, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions.
Nominate Ambassadors and Organizational Members: You will nominate other ambassadors and organizational members to be part of GCIO, contributing to the expansion of the organization's network and reach.
Undertake Active Tasks: You will undertake actively assigned tasks given by the GCIO, demonstrating your commitment and dedication to the Council's goals and initiatives.
Share Insights and Knowledge: You will share your insights, knowledge, and experiences related to innovation in your country or your field of expertise, contributing to the development of GCIO's thought leadership and knowledge base.
Promote GCIO Speaker Series: You will promote GCIO Speaker Series via various platforms/channels, including social media, email marketing, and other outreach mechanisms, enhancing the organization's visibility and influence in the industry.
