Represent IUGB at West Afrian Hub Convening
Get ready to be part of something transformative! The Education Collaborative’s West African Hub Convening will take place March 25–27 in Lome, Togo. This year’s theme is “Student First: Rethinking Support Systems, Campus Life, and Academic Success in African Higher Education Institutions.”
We are looking for 3-4 passionate student delegates to participate as student observers and potential assistants for the event (event greeters, assist presenters, etc). This is a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience, network with leaders in African higher education, and make a meaningful impact.
Important: There is one application process for both the Yale Model African Union (March 13–15, Accra, Ghana) and the West African Hub Convening (March 25–27, Lome, Togo). Apply once to be considered for one event.
Registered full-time IUGB student with a minimum of 15 credits during the semester the event is held
Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher
No active disciplinary sanctions
In good financial standing with the University (no unpaid tuition or fees)
Preferably active in leadership, student clubs, or relevant academic areas
Strong communication and public speaking skills
Freshmen and UPP applicants must submit a minimum of three current faculty recommendation letters
Prepare the following documents and materials before beginning your application:
Motivation letter explaining why you want to participate (700 words)
30-second “elevator pitch” video
For Freshmen and UPP applicants: three recommendation letters from current professors in place of GPA
Personal finance plan (students pay 50% of the trip and 100% for any non-event activities)
Parent/Guardian authorization letter if under 18 years old
