The Judicial Branch is here to help keep our Student Government fair, honest, and respectful. It is made up of eight (8) student Justices who listen to concerns and questions about how the SGA runs. They make sure that everyone follows the rules, like the SGA Constitution, the SGA Bylaws, the election code, or IUGB's Code of Ethics, so the student government works well for all students.
This branch is a safe place where students can bring up problems about SGA members not following the rules or acting unfairly. All concerns will be handled with the utmost confidentiality, meaning your privacy will be respected and your issue will be discussed only by those who need to know. We are here to make sure your voice is heard and that justice is fair and respectful to everyone involved.
The Student Government Association (SGA) Justice Council and Supreme Court help make sure that all student leaders follow the rules. SGA student leaders include SGA elected officers, appointed officers, and Assembly officers. If you have a concern or complaint, you can bring it to the Court. Here are some examples of issues you can bring:
When an SGA member breaks any SGA rules or bylaws.
If an SGA officer, either elected, appointed, or Assembly officer, acts in an unfair or unethical way.
Problems about SGA elections or election rules.
Complaints about how SGA officers do their job or decisions they make.
Any issue related to conflicts, disputes, or confusion about SGA policies.
The Justice Council and Supreme Court help solve these problems fairly. They listen to both sides and make decisions to keep the student government honest and strong.
You can file complaints about:
Elected SGA officers, like the President, Vice President, Senators, or Chief Officers.
Appointed members who hold leadership roles in departments, committees, or teams.
Any Assembly officers who do not follow the rules or act unfairly.
Make sure your problem is about something the Court can handle.
Gather any facts, messages, or evidence that support your case.
Fill out the Supreme Court Complaint Form carefully with all information.
Submit your completed form by email to the Judicial Council.
After you submit, the Court will send you confirmation and tell you the next steps.
