This page has four assignments compelted for a class, Communication Research Methods. The assignments are an annotated bibliography, observation assignment, interview and analyis, and a survey construction and evauluation group assignment.
The point of these assignments were to get a feel for what goes into research for communication disciplines, learning each aspect of it throughout the semester in these assignments. Feel free to get a look at my growth!
This first assignment was an annotated bibliography I created based off of the question "What audiences better respond to health campaigns through social media?".
I selected this question as I wanted to explore public health and social science related areas within the realm of communication research! I also have a lot of interest in health campaigns and how to appeal to older generations through online methods. Some of my research and classes circle around older generations and their health, and this was a way for me to look into this more.
Next, we did an assignment where we sat in a public place and observed individuals or groups around us, looking at how they communicated.
This assignment ended up being a bit more informal, as many of the notes were for myself and my instructor, not necessarily public view. However, I thought this would be an interesting way to show my process when I complete tasks!
As you may be able to tell from the title, this next document entails some interviews I completed for this class as well.
I interviewed two people, a younger peer and an older individual, to get some more insight in how the people around me engage with media. I wanted to see what differs when it comes to age and generational differences.
Ideally, I would apply this information to my interests of health communication.
Finally, this linked assignment was the layout of a potential survey I completed with two other people from my class.
We proposed looking into the best channel for companies and brands to use to advertise a product.
