promoting autonomy and independence (Batanero et al., 2022);
augmenting participation and engagement in classroom activities (Ayon & Dillon, 2021);
facilitating the acquisition of social skills (Ahmed, 2018; Batanero et al., 2022);
supporting the realization of personal goals (Ayon & Dillon, 2021; Jensen, 2014);
providing a better quality of life (Ahmed, 2018; Ayon & Dillon, 2021); and
reinforcing positive self-images (Ahmed, 2018; Jensen, 2014).
