The University of Manitoba Insitute of Transportation Engineers Student Chapter (UMITE) is the main representational group for students interested in transportation and planning at the University of Manitoba. Our members are primarily made up of engineering students but include any students passionate about how people or goods get around our city and province. Our primary focus is on the professional development and academic advancement of our members in the field of transportation engineering and planning. We also strive to improve transportation sustainability and safety in the community through a variety of public service initiatives.
The UMITE team is made of 5 executives who oversee individual sub-teams made up of engaged and dedicated members. Together they work to grow the U of M transportation community. Recently, we have also started an ITE Sandbox Competition Team, which gives students an opportunity to compete in a transportation and planning based case competition. If you have any questions about any of our events or initiatives, take a look at the information found on the header at the top of the page. If you have any general questions about UMITE please reach out to the president.
