Before you start in Middle School, make sure you read the Middle School expectations very carefully.
Many Middle School events are planned each school year which can be found on the calendar on the community portal.
This link will show you the Middle School block schedule. Individual student subject rosters will be provided on the first school day.
The Middle School curriculum can be found on the community portal.
Once a week on Wednesday afternoon (block 8 and 9). Exploratory classes are intended to be choices that you make to explore areas you would not normally get the chance to try in regular classes or to give you a chance to practice the skills a little more. They are divided into categories and the idea is to experience a different category in every quarter (or every other quarter). This is an ideal opportunity to take a risk and try something new.
In Middle School children are able to purchase lunch in the school cafeteria, or bring their own lunch.
Annually, Middle School students participate in a ‘leirskole’ (Outdoor Education) week where students build their teamwork and cooperation skills while getting to know the local culture and traditions – all in the beautiful Norwegian outdoors. This type of experience continues because each year we see students benefit tremendously, making new friends, bonding with teachers, being active and learning to overcome challenges. Sixth grade students usually travel to Fevik the week before the October break, seventh graders travel the same week to Hardanger and eighth graders go on a ski week to Trysil in March. Check the Middle School Events Calendar to see the exact dates.
