Tips for moving to remote or online instruction...
Start with what you can. Don't feel like you have to do it all at first.
Plan and prep a Youtube channel as a grade level team. Record lessons and share them there.
Don't do it alone! Team up as a grade level and share recorded lessons or Zoom "duties".
Use Zoom to schedule regular virtual "face to face" lessons with your students. Record lessons for those who can't join Zoom live.
Help your students and families create a daily routine.
Use online learning programs to track your students' progress remotely. (ex. iReady, etc.)
Give yourself and your students grace! We are all learning.
Keep in mind that some families may not be able to access instruction live. Be sure to have a plan for recording it so they can access it later.
Keep in mind the attention spans of the kids you teach when you plan a virtual lesson.
Keep things simple for you, your students, and their families. Have one method or platform for communicating to make things easier to find.
