THE IBCP
The International Baccalaureate Careers programme is an alternative pathway from the IBDP. It provides students with a more practical method of study that is celebrated by employers. Success at the IBCP will enable students to go on to study at university, or open up other pathways like apprenticeships.
Students will study:

Career Related Study
The Career Related Study will utilise around 50% of the student's schedules. The course they will be following is the Pearson BTEC Level 3 International Diploma in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship. This will involve both class based study and real-world work experience where they can apply the skills they are developing through their study.
The IBCP Core Areas:
Reflective Project
Students identify, analyse, discuss and evaluate an ethical dilemma associated with an issue from their career-related studies.
The Reflective project will take a minimum of 50 hours over the 2 year course, will be internally assessed and externally moderated
Personal & Professional Skills
The PPS course is designed to provide students with the right attitudes, skills and strategies needed to be successful in the workplace.
The 5 themes of PPS are: 1. Personal development 2. Intercultural understanding 3. Effective communication 4. Thinking processes 5. Applied ethics.
Language Development
Students participate in a introductory course in a new language or one that they are not strong in.
Students have introduction to this language over 50 hours of study across 2 years and create a portfolio of their language development over this time.
Service Learning
Service learning is where students use what they are learning towards meeting an identified and authentic community need.
For example, a CP student with a Business course focus might support a local need by organising a fundraising event using their marketing and promotions skills.
