ABOUT THE SITE:
Upskills Foundation is a beacon of hope in the heart of Tondo, Philippines, where communities residing near the notorious Smokey Mountain Dump Site face dire living conditions. Amidst makeshift shanties lacking basic necessities like running water, sanitation, and a stable electrical supply, numerous families find themselves disenfranchised, unregistered for government benefits, mired in debt, and ensnared in an unrelenting cycle of poverty.
Upskills Foundation stands resolute in its mission to empower these families and the broader community, fostering self-reliance and sustainability. By nurturing local capacity and resources, the foundation ensures that these communities can independently chart their path towards a brighter future. Their mission revolves around collaboration with informal settlers grappling with extreme poverty and soaring unemployment, offering comprehensive and fully integrated services to facilitate self-improvement and skill development. Through livelihood training, employment opportunities, educational scholarships, healthcare assistance, and environmental stewardship initiatives, Upskills Foundation strives to break the chains of poverty and catalyze transformative change in the lives of those they serve.
