In June 2020, ISL held a workshop for students in years 5-6. Our goal was to help our community understand the problem we are facing while also building understanding.
After viewing the video, students were asked to respond to the following prompts:
What’s memorable from the video? What questions come up?
What makes a positive school culture? What can adults do? What can youth do?
What makes it hard to stand up and act when we see something hurtful happening? What needs to change?
Student responses are below.
In June of 2020, our staff and interested parents were asked to share their initial questions and interests. This data helped us to design our workshop, especially informing the focus groups and experts.
