COMMITTEE OVERVIEW
The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), the UN General Assembly First Committee, addresses disarmament, arms control, and global security threats. Delegates debate WMD nonproliferation, conventional arms, and emerging technologies, crafting confidence-building and verification measures. The goal is to reduce armaments and strengthen collective security under the UN Charter.
