Dear Our Headmasters, Dear our colleagues, dear parents, dear our students... This is our last meal together, it is our final gala party for this mobility. A week passed... I hope you spent it perfectly and take with you unforgettable moments. Before giving awards I would like to thank you all for your kindness and cooperation. It was very helpful for me. I would like to thank firstly to my headmaster and my vice headmaster Mrs. Aglaia for their patience, the parents who hosted all our students and I hope all of them be satisfied, my project beloved partners, my true friend Mina, Betty and Meni who did their best this week, I am grateful to them and lastly my and your students the real protagonists of this mobility.. Thank you... love you all.

Erasmus project is a great opportunity for us as teachers and for you, our students to live new experiences. Maybe when you decided to participate you were feeling uneasy and can’t decide what is going on an Erasmus project but now we hope not to having regret it. Now you have still the smell from so many new experiences, the hard work of debates, the trial to respect each other, the tiredness of excursions but believe us when you finish your school, Erasmus experience would be a strong weapon for your life when you have to decide which path to choose for your future. One of the popular reasons to go on Erasmus project is that you have the opportunity to get to new places realizing how big and amazing is our world, its true!
After a week here you started living in a multicultural environment, you learnt a lot about Greek culture and living together on a daily basis some of the myths about other countries were eliminated having learned to be tolerant and understanding … the great benefit of Erasmus projects: Learn how to be open minded towards other people. It is sad when it comes to an end but you gained true friendships and strong bonds as you will soon realize how lucky you were to be able to have this opportunity. Thank you for this remarkable week.
But in my first speech. I promised to speak about the person who started this journey. Many years ago I was impressed when I met a remarkable Sicilian woman. I was impressed by her external appearance and her strong, passionate temperament and character. She could easily compare her feminine nature with a perfect professionalism of hers and a brilliant mind.
Then my mind played and I recalled a Great Greek actress and politician (Minister of Civilization) who was characterized as the last Greek Goddess and a woman-flame. Melina Merkouri lived passionately, loved, played roles in the best theatres of the world in Greece, Paris, Broadway, married with the American director ZYL Dasen and fought about her vision of returning the Greek marbles of Parthenon until her death. A culture Award of Unesco took her name and she gave the idea of The Cultural Capital Of Europe.One of her most famous words were … Please Ida can you stand up and read them…( …………) My headmaster gives the pride of honour Award.
