Student-athletes who are considering playing Division I or Division II athletics in college have specific eligibility requirements to meet for the NCAA. (Division III athletes do not have specific requirements beyond what the college requires for admission)
After reviewing all the information below, please make an appointment with Ms. Schlafke or Ms. Mersbergen and they will be able to further assist you with the application process.
We recommend you begin this process early as some adjustments may need to be made to your schedule so that you are eligible to compete at the DI or DII level.

Division I Academic Requirements
Division II Academic Requirements
You must be registered with a Certification Account before you can make official visits or sign a National Letter of Intent.
The NCAA will not begin your certification until it is requested by an NCAA school.
If at any time you wish to pursue a Division I or II path, you will be able to transition to a Certification Account.
Before You Begin Your NCAA Eligibility Center Registration, Make Sure You Have the Following:
A Valid Student Email Address
You’ll need an active email account that you check frequently. This should be your personal email not your school email. The NCAA Eligibility Center uses this email to send important updates about your registration and eligibility status.
Basic Personal Information
Be prepared to provide details like your full name, gender, date of birth, contact information (primary and secondary), and your current address.
Academic History
List all high schools, secondary institutions, and any other academic programs you’ve attended.
NCAA-Approved Course List
Check that you are taking NCAA approved courses. See AHS's list of NCAA approved courses HERE.

Sports Participation History (for Certification Accounts)
You’ll need to share your history of participation in sports, including any teams you’ve played or practiced with, competitions you’ve been part of, awards or expenses received, and any individuals who have promoted your athletic skills. This information is used to determine your amateur status if an NCAA school requests your certification.
Payment Information (for Certification Accounts)
There is a nonrefundable registration fee:
• $90 for U.S., U.S. Territories*, and Canadian students
• $150 for international students
Payment methods accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. If you have questions about payment or believe you may qualify for a fee waiver, visit the NCAA Eligibility Center website.

Students can take the ACT as many times as they’d like before enrolling full-time in college. All test scores must be sent directly to the NCAA Eligibility Center. To avoid additional fees, it's recommended that students list the NCAA Eligibility Center as a score recipient when registering for the exam.
Please note: Only official test scores sent directly from the testing agency (ACT or SAT) will be accepted. Scores are not listed on AHS student transcripts.
Visit the ACT website: www.actstudent.org/scores/send
Enter code 9999 to select the NCAA Eligibility Center as a score recipient (you can do this during registration for free or after taking the test for a fee).
Once submitted, your official scores will be sent directly to the NCAA, and your account status will be updated accordingly.
