The following career planning information is a guide to help PEM HS students prepare for their future.
Self Assessment is identifying interests, strengths, and abilities. MnCIS is the platform available to PEM HS students. Log in and then click on Self-Surveys for the available assessments such as: Career Cluster Inventory, IDEAS, Interest Profiler, Learning Style Inventory . Academic assessments can be found under the Practice Tests tab.
Self Reflection. Take time to think about and discuss the questions/statements below with your parents/guaridans:

Exploring Career Options. There are many ways to explore career options; here are the resources for PEM HS Students and familes.
Career and College Events: Click on this link takes you to a google drive folder with flyers and information about career and college events offered to PEM HS Students.
MnCIS MN Career Information System is an online platform that all PEM students can access. Students create an account in grade 8 in preparation for high school course regitration and Careers 9 class. Students are able to explore careers and find the appropriate training for those careers. MnCIS can also match colleges with the program of study interst.
Occupations in Demand Data Tool This tool allows you to find out what jobs are in high demand in each region of the state, typical wage, long-term employment outlook, and the required training (or degree) needed (including schools that offer those training programs). Here is how to navigate:
Click on link to take you to website, then click on Use Data Tool
Then click on Start New Search in upper left corner under Occupations in Demand
Click on the region of MN you would like the information for and select View Data
Now you are able to review the occupations that are most in demand for that region of MN as well as additional and valuable information about that job.
