Pages, Files, and Modules: Managing Content in Canvas
Undeleting Lost Assignments
You can "Undelete" up to the last 25 items that you deleted in your Canvas Course.
From within your Canvas course, go to the url area of your browser and look for the course ID number. This is a six digit number that comes after the “https://wwu.instructure.com/courses/”
Once you’ve located the course ID number, remove everything in the address following it except for the backslash (/) and type in the word “undelete.” The new url will look something like this:
https://wwu.instructure.com/courses/787737/undelete. Press Return
A series of recently deleted items will appear and give you the option to restore.
Only the last 25 items will show up on the restore list.
If you restore a quiz that had student submissions, you need to make sure to restore the assignment as well, or else the submissions will not be restored.
Copying Last Year's Course into This Year's Course
Once new courses are created by Skyward with students already enrolled, you will need to move the content from last year's course into this year's course.
You can now send individual pages or assignments to another course or teacher. Here's how!
Crosslisting your Courses
Crosslisting is a way to combine multiple sections of a course into one course. This makes it easier to edit everything in one place.

Student App VS Safari on the iPad
A reminder that Canvas quizzes typically function best in the Safari or Chrome app on the iPad as opposed to the Canvas Student app.
We know that students are having sometimes having issues with images loading on the iPad. Please remember the following:
1. Students should have updated their IOS on the iPad
2. Students should reinstall the Canvas Student app from self-service . To see the app version, log into the student app---->click on the three bars in the left hand corner ----> in the bottom left of the white pop up rectangle is the version number in little gray writing
3. In the iPad general settings, students should scroll down to student and toggle on "allow cross-website tracking" and "reset cache on next launch" if they are having issues with images in the app
4. A general rule of thumb is that the Safari or Chrome apps are also options for using Canvas on the iPad. If students are having issues with the app, accessing Canvas through Safari or Chrome usually works.
Cleaning up your Canvas Dashboard
If there are courses on your dashboard that you no longer want to see there, go to courses on the far left hand side and click on courses, then all courses…. “Light up” the stars of the courses that you want to see on your dashboard and “unlight” the ones that you don’t want to see.
You can NOT unpublish last year’s courses, but don’t worry. They will be archived. Students can not see them as those terms have ended.
