The school carnival happens every spring. It is a HUGE volunteer event and brings lots of people from the community into the school. It's also a ton of fun for the parents and the kids.
Volunteer slots include committee leads to booth volunteers, from the food and games to clean up crews at night after the event. The carnival needs about 150 volunteers! Watch for announcements for the sign up genius put out by the Carnival committee in the Spring. Sign up for a shift and spend the rest of the time enjoying the carnival! Or let us know you are interested in volunteering to be on the Carnival Committee!
The PTA is still looking for a volunteer to take on the overall lead role in putting on Carnival 2026 and a Food lead! Reach out to anyone on the PTA board if you want to help put on this amazing event!

Responsible for gathering Silent Auction items and Raffle Prizes
Grade Level Baskets: each grade K-5 will donate a basket for the silent auction.
Donations from local businesses or friends/family to auction off
Non-tangible items (examples: lunch with Principal, Secretary for the Day, Knigtly News appearance, VIP seating at all-school rallies)
Pricing/tacking/confirming silent auction sales

Responsible for Carnival Special Events
Coordinate events and vendors (Examples: Bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, dunk tank, etc)
Coordinate setup/locations for vendors
Coordinate and outline layout/flow of carnival to avoid "traffic jams"

Coordinate volunteers and shift schedules for each game

Source food vendors (popcorn, pizza, kona ice, etc)
Collect food donations to sell at Carnival (junk food alley, snack station)
Obtain food license from City of Bloomington
Determine food budget for food in coordination with ticket pricing/admission

Responsible for communicating/marketing Carnival Ticket Sales
Works with Secretary and Kindergarden Open House Night to communicate Carnival to incoming kinders
Coordinates communications on pre-sale ticket pass purchases and day-of sales
Coordinates distribution of tickets (before and day-of)
Works with PTA treasurer for payment processing / cash receipts
Track and report ticket pass sales
