Evaluate AI responses

• Verify claims, data and references using authoritative sources.

• Look for fabricated information, omissions and bias.

• Consult and cite original sources rather than AI summaries.

Use AI safely

• Do not upload personal, confidential or unpublished work.

• Use school-approved tools and follow privacy requirements.

• Respect copyright and protect your own and others’ intellectual property.

Acknowledge AI use

• Explain precisely how AI supported the work.

• Credit AI-generated material in the text and bibliography.

• Retain relevant prompts, outputs, drafts and revision history.

Demonstrate authentic authorship

• Develop your ideas and coursework independently over time.

• Produce your own analysis, interpretation and conclusions.

• Evaluate rather than automatically accept AI suggestions.

• Be prepared to explain and defend the complete work.

Confirm assessment expectations

• Confirm expectations with the subject teacher or supervisor.

• Ask the librarian about sources, citations and documentation.

• Consult the DP coordinator if requirements remain unclear.

• Review the school’s and IB’s academic-integrity guidance.
