i. Every organisms has unique molecules on the surface of its cells
ii. Ingestion of pathogens by phagocytic white blood cells gives non-specific immunity to diseases.
iii. Production of antibodies by lymphocytes in response to particular pathogens gives specific immunity.
iv. B lymphocytes are activated by T lymphocytes in mammals
v. Activated B lymphocytes multiply to form clones of plasma cells and memory cells
vi. B lymphocytes secrete antibodies
vii. Antibodies aid the destruction of pathogens
viii. Production of antibodies by lymphocytes in response to particular pathogens gives specific immunity to diseases
ix. Immunity depends upon the persistence of memory cells
