(Cambridge) IGCSE PE is an option for High School students to engage in a more complex learning of sport. It is an intense but rewarding course that will give students a real insight to many different aspects of sport and exercise.

The course is run over two years with the goal to build knowledge, inspire students to be active/live healthy lives and to prepare for the IB or other future academic studies.

At ISA, we focus on these main sports/activities.

  • Volleyball

  • Basketball

  • Badminton

  • Weight Training for Fitness

Students will have the option to specialise in their own sport, as long as it matches the criteria and they are competent enough to complete various video recorded assessments.

The course will include 50% theoretical work which will be taught throughout. This will be delivered in a classroom and as practical activities.

Assessment

AO1 and AO2 - Theory (Paper) Exam - 50%

AO3 - Coursework and Practical - 50%

In successful completion of the course, this qualification may lead students into pursuing; Sports Coaching, PE teaching, Physiotherapy, Sports Psychology, Sports and Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning, Active Schools, NESCOL Sport and Exercise Programmes, Sport and Exercise University Programmes, Sports Management and Promotion and many more.
