Irving ISD
Capturing Kids' Hearts® plays a pivotal role in our Bowie community. This initiative fosters a supportive atmosphere for both students and staff. A key element is "Good Things," where we spotlight positive happenings on campus. In our newsletter, these highlights align with our school's Mission, Vision, and Values.
We're thrilled to announce that Bowie Middle School has been named a Solution Tree Professional Learning Community (PLC) Model School! This accolade places us among just 104 schools in Texas and fewer than 1,000 across the United States to earn this honor.
This achievement is a testament to our dedicated teachers and their unwavering commitment to ensuring high levels of learning for all students, perfectly aligning with our school's Mission. Congratulations to everyone involved, and thank you for making Bowie Middle School a beacon of educational excellence! 🎉👏

Last week was Suicide Awareness and Prevention Week in Irving ISD. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth aged 12-18, and on average, there are 3,703 suicide attempts made by middle and high school students daily. Four out of five individuals considering suicide give some sign of their intentions.
- Maintain a positive relationship with your child.
- Restrict access to lethal means in your home.
- Ask directly and non-judgmentally if your child is thinking about suicide. Doing so will not "plant the idea" in their mind. If they do talk about it, listen without judgment and seek professional help immediately.
