Our 8th Grade RLA team had a competition to see which class could score higher on their latest assessment. The class that won got to throw confetti eggs at their opposition. Congrats to Ms. Hainlen's RLA class, and thank you Mr. Powell for being a great sport!
Check out this design from Diana Portillo, an 8th grade cub, which will grace the front of our 8th grade picnic T-Shirts! We are so excited for the event and to provide students who attend a free shirt as a souvenir for their time at Bowie.
We are proud to have Rhett as our Mirabeau B. Lamar Award winner presented by the Irving Masonic Lodge.
Bowie Cubs competed against their teachers in a fierce game of basketball! It was a close match, but our teachers proved that students still have much to learn. Check out the photo carousel!
It was Assistant Principal Appreciation week! Huge shoutout to our wonderful APs who work tremendously hard to keep our school engaged, safe, and supported. We love you Ms. Mishaw, Mr. Thomas, and Mr. Garza!
Encourage your student to try out for the school talent show! Musicians, artists, dancers, students in karate, actors, athletes, and more are all encouraged to try out!

Irving ISD is excited to allow our students to participate in the solar eclipse event on Monday, April 8. Parents will provide eclipse safety glasses and permission for their students to view the eclipse. This event will provide a unique and educational opportunity for students to observe a solar eclipse safely with the guidance of qualified teachers.
We have a limited number of solar eclipse glasses for students who need them. If you cannot provide your own, please send your student to school on Monday with a note.
Students must have permission slips signed to attend the outside viewing.

Our traditional 8th grade picnic is fast approaching. Scheduled for May 17th, it is a day for 8th graders to get away from the campus and enjoy the company of friends and teachers they have grown with over the last few years in middle school. It is a special event that has some special requirements in order to attend. Please look at the flyer and encourage your child to give their best effort as we round down the year.
