Modified Boys Soccer:
PLEASE FILL OUT THE QUESTIONNAIRE AT THE TOP
I am very excited about working with the 7th Grade boys soccer team. Soccer has always been a passion of mine. I have played, coached, and officiated for over 30 years. I look forward to working with the boys as they either begin a new adventure or continue to grow and develop their skills as well as knowledge of the "Beautiful Game."
I will be having a brief meeting on September 5th followed by our first practice the same day. The boys should have the following equipment each day for practice: a positive attitude, water bottle, sneakers, cleats, shorts, and a t-shirt. For colder weather, they can wear sweat pants and /or a sweat jacket. Shin guards are available for use from the school to sign out if you wish, or the boys may purchase their own. School uniforms will be handed out to the players for use during the season.
Please do not wear any jewelry to practice or games. You are not allowed to wear jewelry, or any headbands that have a knot in them, such as the popular nike head bands. All head bands or hair ties must be of soft material.
Cleats: must be molded soccer cleats. You are not allowed to wear metal cleats or cleats that have screw in pegs on the bottom. They may not be softball cleats where there is a single peg in the front of the cleat, just ask for soccer cleats when purchasing them. There is one style of adidas soccer/football cleat that is NOT legal- it is red and has spikes on the top of the foot. Please stay away from this style.
** Please make sure your child has had a physical. In order to be able to start practice on the first day, the boys will have needed to complete the physical exam. The boys will also need to get on Family ID.
Transportation: The boys will be brought home on the bus following practices; however, on game days, the boys must ride the bus to and from the games. The boys must have a ride waiting at the Middle School upon their arrival home from an away game, and at the completion of home games. Buses will not bring players home following home or away events. You must provide transportation from the Middle School after each game.
Spirit Wear- The JV and Varsity boys soccer teams are selling spirit wear as well that all family members can enjoy. Please contact the Athletic Office for more information.
I am asking players to wear only school colors to practice to show pride in their school, and cohesion within the team. The colors would be: Navy blue, columbia blue, white, grey or black. Clothing should be in line with the weather- cold days wear sweats, jackets, sweat shirts.
I look forward to an exciting season, and getting to know your athletes. If you ever need to reach me, you may email me at: marciapawling@ircsd.org
Practice Schedule:
Practices will be held at Calcium Primary School every day after school until 5pm. The bus will pick up the players from the middle school and drive them to Calcium Primary for practice then transport them back to the middle school to be brought home OR you may pick up your athlete at Calcium at 5 pm..
Please be prompt if you plan on picking up your child.
If it rains we will be in the gym at Calcium, so players MUST bring cleats and sneakers each day.
Game Schedule: (schedulegalaxy link)
Most games will start at 4:30, however; there are a few that will start at 4 pm. If you wish your child to ride home after an away game with you or another Parent, I will need a note giving permission to ride with another family. If you are taking your child from an away game, I will need you to sign them out with me following the game. This is all for the safety of your child.
