Mrs. Marcelletta

My name is Mrs. Marcelletta and I am happy to work with you and your child! I am a Reading Specialist at Theresa Primary School. I specialize in Reading Recovery, an intervention specific to struggling readers in first grade. I also work with small groups in grades K-3 for literacy support through Leveled Literacy Intervention. This is my thirteenth year teaching reading for Indian River Central School District.

I graduated from Indian River Central School District and attended SUNY Potsdam for elementary education. I began my career teaching pre-k at Head Start in Watertown. Early intervention holds a special place in my heart. I furthered my career when I completed my masters courses in literacy, and was hired by Indian River as a reading teacher. I then trained for an additional year in Reading Recovery.

My goal is to help my students find a love for reading and writing and for them to become confident in themselves and their own abilities. I work with students at their level and capitalize on their strengths and interests in order to support their areas of need. I have a growth mindset and celebrate each student's progress.

I live in Theresa with my husband Jason, and our two boys. We enjoy walking, raising butterflies, gardening, exploring nature, kayaking, camping, reading, and playing cards.
