During 2011-2015, daytime's were much warmer. The nights were near or below average. Some of these were the hottest days ever. In 2014, there were 3 days with 40 degrees celcuis and 19 days were -35 degrees celcuis in Australia. 4 times the average 5 days. There has been decreased rainfalls, and increased temperature. Fire dangers have increased. Heat related illness has more than doubled. 2011-2012 saw heavy rain and cooler temperatures. But in 2014, there were much warmer temperatures. 2013 was the second-warmest year for Australia. There has been an increase in extreme events, which makes natural environments favorable for weeds and pests.
Species from special habitats may go extinct. Their is reduced soil moisture and nutrients, and their is increased erosion. Their is an increased drought severity, and bush fire frequency. Their is a big threat to cold climate. Their will be reduced snowfall. Their will be even more invasive species. The spring breeding season will be shortened. The atmospheric carbon dioxide is at its highest level during humanity. Carbon dioxide emissions rise, the planet gets hotter. This planet is roughly .9 degrees hotter than the 1900s levels. Since 1970, temperatures have been rising at a rate of .17 degrees per decade, more than double the average .07 degrees.
1. Our climate has accumulated 4.63 billion(and counting 1 bomb per 1 second) Hiroshima atomic bombs of heat since 1970.
2. Arctic sea ice and glaciers are melting. Arctic sea ice has shrunk 3.5 to 4.1 percent per decade since 1979.
3. 2/3 of the Great barrier reef has been damaged because of climate change. The ocean gets too hot, causing the coral to bleach spitting out its algae and turning white.
4. Global flooding will triple by 2030. The people exposed will go from 21,000,000 to 54,000,000. The cost to fix the damage will go from 65,000,000,000 euros to 340,000,000,000 euros.
1. Responsible usage
We need to think before we do anything. Think, should you use a paper bag(which is biodegradable), or should you use a plastic bag(which will pollute and warm this planet forever)?
2.It is enough!
Don't buy more than you need. You will probably end up throwing it away without using it.
3. Close the lights!
If you close the lights, you will save electricity which is made at factories which creates greenhouse gases which makes a dome around the earth letting heat in, but not letting it out, speeding up the process of global warming.
