Why are they in poverty?

Why are they in poverty? Many think it is only about bad economy and corrupted government. But there's more to it than that. Religion and culture are also a huge part.

Facts: 1 billion less people are in poverty than 20 years ago. 1/2 of poor people are children. In Sub-saharan Africa 247m are in poverty. Even in the richest countries, 1 in 4 children are in poverty. Only 1/3 of children are being helped. 1 in 5 lack safe drinking water. 270m don't have access to healthcare. 22 thousand children die daily due to poverty!
