Using WeVideo for Your Colonial Regions Fair Project

Login to WeVideo

To login, either click on the WeVideo icon in the Single Sign On (SSO)  portal or login with your school Google account at https://www.wevideo.com/sign-in

Finding Your Project

Click on the projects link at the top of the page. .

Click on the Shared with me link on the left side menu.

Double click on the name of your project on the right side.

Import Media Into Your Project

Click the Media link on the top menu.

Click the circle with the plus sign in the bottom right corner.

To import the media, drag it to the center box, click the BROWSE TO SELECT button, or click the Google Drive button to import media from your account.

Sharing Media to Your Project

Select all of the media you want to include in your project by holding the Ctrl key while clicking on each file.

To share to your project, right click on one of the files you selected and choose the Share to project option.

Editing Your Video

Go to your project and click the NEW VIDEO EDIT button.

Exporting WeVideo & Adding to Padlet

When you are done with your video, you need to export it.

Click the Finish button in the top right corner of the editing screen.

Name your video according to your teacher's directions.

Choose a resolution for the video. SD is just fine for your project. HD will be a higher quality, but it will take up more bandwidth on home Internet connections. 

Choose Destinations for the export. Click on YouTube. You can also choose to export it to Google Drive as a backup or if your teacher requires it. 

If this is the first time you are exporting to YouTube or Google Drive, you will might need to connect your account to WeVideo.

Click your account name. 

Click Allow.

Depending on the length of your video and amount and quality of video clips (vs. still images), your video may take a little while to export. 

You can close the the browser tab once the export is started. You will get an email when the export is done.

Go to your YouTube account.

Click the Your videos link on the left side menu.

Click on the video thumbnail.

Click the EDIT VIDEO button.

Click the visibility option.

Select Unlisted.

Underneath the video in the Audience section, select the No, it's not made for kids option.

Save your changes by clicking the SAVE button.

On the right side, click the copy URL icon.

Go to the class Padlet for this project. 

Click the + sign to add a new post. 

Click the chain link to add your YouTube URL.

Paste your YouTube URL into the Enter URL box and click SAVE.
