Introduction
These resources will help you find information about your colony for your Colonial Regions Fair project.
Finding Primary Sources
Find and read secondary sources about your specific topic (your textbook, history books, LMC database articles, etc.) to get background information.
Look for keywords and topics as you read.
Important people / Groups
Organizations or Institutions
Laws / Government Documents
Other Important Information
Use LMC databases & books before a general web search because the information has been edited and usually gives context for primary sources.
Use the terms you found in your reading when looking for primary sources.
Example: When looking for education in the Massachusets Bay Colony, you might look for Massachusetts School Law (1647).
Consider what type of media you want to find: full text of laws, speeches, diary entries, paintings, newspaper articles, etc.

Other Libraries
The Naperville Public Library's American History Online and Gale Virtual Reference Library databases have useful information for this assignment.
You will need a current library card to access them remotely. Otherwise, you can go into one of their branches and use the databases for free on the NPL: Online Research & Learning page.
