MathXL is an online program that is individualized for your student. It keeps track of student progress and offers a variety of helpful tools while solving problems. Students will need a Chromebook, tablet, computer or mobile device to answer the questions.
Students will be assigned MathXL for homework. It is expected that the students log in to their account and answer the assigned questions in a timely manner. This program does not eliminate the need for pencil and paper computations. Students will be told, when given the assignment, which problem sets require handwritten work. All answers to the MathXL problems are to be answered online AND on separate notebook paper.
MathXL assignments will be checked the day after they are assigned. Students who continue to complete assignments in a timely manner find success with this program. MathXL assignments can be redone for a better score any time BEFORE the next assessment. It is the student's responsibility to notify me if they have redone an assignment so I can update their score.
Students can access their MathXL account through the Student Single Sign On Portal (SSO) link found in the left hand column of http://wvhs.ipsd.org/ website.
Students must use the same user name and password used at school to log into this account.
Once logged into SSO, students should choose the Savvas - Pearson Bridge link
Use the drop down menu for your course and choose MathXL for school.
This should take you to your assignments page.
If you don't see your current assignment, use the link "Homework and Tests"
It is highly recommended that you have access to a TI-84 graphing calculator.
In the event that you do not have one yet, please feel free to download the DESMOS calculator app onto your Chromebook. Go to the chrome web store and search Desmos Graphing Calculator - here is the link.
There is an app for your phone called wabbitemu that simulates a graphing calculator.
You can download it from the app store with this link.
You can download this app to your chromebook if you do not have a calculator yet. I would highly recommend that you invest in a calculator and not just rely on this app.
