Sport Information

Boys' Basketball

Boys' basketball is open to all 7th- and 8th-grade boys. Basketball is a cut sport, meaning that 20 boys per grade level will be selected for the teams.

Each grade level has two teams—AA and A—with teams organized based on skill levels and positions. Our program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of basketball, developing individual and team skills, and preparing students for the transition to high school athletics.

Beyond basketball, we also emphasize mental, social, and emotional skills that can translate directly to success in school, relationships, and future careers. Players will learn the importance of teamwork, communication, accountability, perseverance, discipline, and responding positively to challenges.

We compete in the Naper-Prairie Conference, which includes schools from both District 204 and District 203. The season consists of one exhibition game, 12 regular-season games, and a single-elimination playoff tournament.

The season runs from mid-October through the end of December, with practices held Monday through Friday. Weekends are off.
