LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! 2026
The Department of Multi Media and Mass Communication, Indraprastha College for Women successfully hosted its annual media festival, Lights-Camera-Action! 2026, on 30th March 2026. The day witnessed vibrant participation from 150+ students from India across seven countries including Georgia, USA, Canada, Oman, Nepal, Russia, and Vietnam, and an attendance of 250+ students from the college.
The festival began with an interactive session by RJ Atishay, who shared insights on the evolving radio industry. This was followed by the inauguration of the International Photography Exhibition, featuring the Frame Politik photography competition alongside a special student showcase from the department's academic field trip to Jodhpur.
The Meet the Media session began with the inauguration of the departmenT's annual magazine, Mise-en-scène, followed by an engaging discussion with distinguished guests - film critic and journalist Murtaza Ali Khan, award-winning filmmaker Suraj Kumar and Cinematographer Shivi Bhatnagar. During the conversation, Murtaza Ali Khan highlighted how Gen Z will play a defining role in shaping the future of the content industry, emphasising that the youth are truly the future of India's media landscape.
Competitions like Ad Mad tested participants on their quick wit and creativity, while Bol Bachchan brought out spontaneous storytelling in a fast-paced podcast format. Competition Meme Baazi saw students showcase their humour and meme-making skills, while The Pariprekshya International Film Festival showcased films from student filmmakers across the world, offering a glimpse into diverse cinematic voices and perspectives.
The day wrapped up with a lively valedictory ceremony, where winners were celebrated, prizes were handed out, and the much-awaited LCA aftermovie brought back all the energy and memories of the day. LCA 2026 was a celebration of ideas, talent, and learning in the media.
