The Department of Multimedia and Mass Communication, along with Simulacra: The Film and Photography Society of IPCW, in collaboration with Udaan, organized a comprehensive 3-day filmmaking workshop starting on March 12, 2024. Day 1 commenced with two enlightening sessions led by distinguished figures, Shri Avtar Sahni and Shri Anoop Trivedi, focusing on direction and acting respectively. The event began with a warm welcome from IPCW's Principal, Professor Poonam Kumaria, emphasizing Udaan's role in promoting Indian values through extracurricular learning. Students were encouraged by Shri Sushil Kumar to explore art during their college years.
Shri Avtar Sahni discussed the director's role as the leader of a film project, covering various production aspects. Shri Anoop Trivedi engaged students with practical acting exercises and shared insights from his experiences. The day concluded with a vibrant Q&A session, highlighting students' eagerness to learn.
On Day 2, the workshop delved into scriptwriting, documentary direction, and cinematography. Esteemed guests, Shri Atul Gangwar and Shri Rajkamal Suthar, led sessions on these topics. Discussions ranged from effective scriptwriting techniques to camera angle selection, with emphasis on authentic storytelling and research methods. The interactive sessions provided students with valuable industry insights.
Day 3 featured sessions led by Dr. Sushil Kumar and Mr. Nakul Chauhan, focusing on film production and post-production respectively. Dr. Kumar discussed Udaan's collaborative film project, encouraging students to apply their learning practically. Mr. Chauhan explored post-production techniques, demonstrating editing software and visual effects.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries including Mr. Ramesh Agarwal and Mr. Anupam Bhatnagar, who highlighted Udaan's role in skill development. Principal Prof. Poonam Kumria emphasized Udaan's impact, followed by inspiring speeches from Mrs. Rekha Gupta and Mr. Ramesh Agarwal.
The workshop concluded with recognition for staff and volunteers, student testimonials, and a vote of thanks from Dr. Gagan Gera.
