WorkShop on Nuances of Reporting and Anchoring
Resource Person: Ms Tanu Sharma
Ms Tanu Sharma, a renowned journalist and anchor conducted a workshop with the students of BMMMC on 10th January 2020 in the department Multi-Media and Mass Communication studio. The session began with the students talking about their respective interests and expectations from the field of media. Ms Tanu Sharma shared her personal experiences about working as an anchor and reporting from ground. She discussed the importance of fluency and diction in detail with the students. She also touched upon topics like work ethics, nepotism in media organisations, on-screen conduct and provided a commentary on the present phase of journalism. She also talked about reporting in turbulent times with reference to the protests happening across the country and how a journalist must always remain unbiased. The workshop was interactive throughout and the discussions were extremely insightful. The workshop proved to be very helpful to the students in getting clarity about the field of anchoring and reporting and how news channels function. Ms Tanu Sharma ended her workshop on an encouraging note, asking students to start discovering and honing their skills and to be well prepared for working on the field.Â
