Workshop on "Designing for Social Media" by Ms. Sakshi Bhatia

The Department of Multi Media and Mass Communication organised its second virtual workshop on October 3, 2020 on the topic "Designing for Social Media.’ The guest speaker for the session was Ms. Sakshi Bhatia. She has previously worked as a guest faculty at Delhi University's Indraprastha College. She specializes in graphic designing, editing and documentary making. Ms. Bhatia has a two decade experience in the field of television. Her last stint in news was with CNN News 18, since then she has been associated with the education industry.

Ms. Bhatia elaborated and she light on the the designing aspects for social media. She told the listeners about the various sizes of the social media platforms that must be kept in mind while designing for various social media platforms. Moreover, the speaker touched upon the various aspects of designing like color contrast, infographics and typography. She gave few examples to show as to how messages can be given through fewer words via a social media post. Towards the end as a quick tip she advised the audience to take care of the resolution of the images. The session was interactive and wholesome in its approach. Students observed Ms. Bhatia’s posters and responded to her questions. In addition to that, the students also posed questions and doubts to the speaker which made the session more comprehensive and useful.
