The NESTT is open during school hours, 8:30 am - 4:15 pm Monday through Friday. Emails and phone calls will only be answered during this time. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact 911 or Johnson County Mobile Crisis at 319-351-0140.

The NESTT (Navigating Emotions and Stress Through Training) is a mental health center for students at City High School.

Over one in three high school students experience mental health crises every year. For many of these students, school serves as the frontlines for addressing these issues.

The NESTT provides a unique, collaborative approach to supporting students with trained staff to support the mental well-being of our school and community. The NESTT serves as a single area where students can go to access mental health/social-emotional support services and work with staff to build skills and strategies. We also support online students through our website and secure virtual sessions.

The skills, services, and support of the NESTT are backed by research rooted in trauma-informed practice to create a safe space for all students and a trauma-sensitive school experience.
